How matching works

The ESCO service only suggests. People confirm the information and make every decision. Here is exactly how Duunijobs connects work with skills.

  1. The ESCO service suggests terms from the official classification

When you upload a CV or write a job post, the Duunijobs-managed ESCO service operating in the EEA identifies occupation and skill suggestions from the text. Before processing, we remove common direct identifiers and limit the amount of text. Suggestions come from the EU’s official ESCO classification of about 13,900 skills — the system does not invent skills. CVs are not sent to ChatGPT or similar external text tools.

  2. You confirm the suggestions

No suggestion affects matching until a person confirms it. Jobseekers confirm their own skills. Employers confirm job requirements and mark each one as required or beneficial. You can reject suggestions and add skills yourself by searching the ESCO classification.

  3. Matching compares confirmed information

Coverage is calculated by comparing requirements confirmed by the employer with skills confirmed by the jobseeker. This is a transparent set comparison, not an automated hiring decision. Employers see which requirements are met and which are not.

  4. People always make the decisions

Duunijobs does not make automated decisions for anyone. The system organises and explains matches, but a person always sends an interview invitation and the jobseeker decides whether to respond. Matching never reads age, gender, origin or photographs.

  5. Anonymous until the employer makes contact

Employers see skills, experience and coverage, but not the person’s name, photograph or contact details before contact is unlocked. People are assessed by their skills, not their face or name.

What information does the ESCO service process?

An occupation title and a limited part of work, education and skills text may be sent to the Duunijobs-managed ESCO service. Common email addresses, phone numbers, links, Finnish personal identity codes and contact rows are removed first. Work and education history may still be personal data, so this processing is described openly in the privacy policy.

What we never do

  • We do not make automated recruitment decisions (GDPR Article 22).
  • We do not use age, gender, origin or photographs in matching or filters. Language ability is considered only as a working-language requirement.
  • We do not ask for a jobseeker’s previous or current salary. Job posts state a salary range.
  • We do not silently restore rejected suggestions. Confirmations and rejections are recorded in an event log.
